So what do money and self-care have in common? Plenty! They are both about being a responsible adult. In fact, the way we treat money can definitely be likened to the way we treat ourselves. If you think about how well you take care of yourself, you can then probably get a good idea of how well you care for your money. How much do you value yourself and how much do you value money? You must extend the same appreciation and respect to your money as you do to yourself, especially if you want to reap its rewards.
Practicing good self-care benefits you in so many ways. Take a moment to think about your eating habits and how healthy they are. Do you get enough rest and exercise? Do you honor your feelings? When we follow good self-care, our self-esteem, confidence, health and emotional state significantly improve, which allows us to create better results in our lives. And just as this occurs on a personal level you can get a similar effect with your money. Caring for your money creates a positive energy, which then makes your money grow.
So, let’s look at your money practices…think about whether you carefully and neatly place your bills in your wallet, or do you crumple them haphazardly, and then shove them in your wallet? Do you toss away money easily on unnecessary expenses or do you choose to save it? When saving your money, do you take care in researching methods for investing or do you invest by default? You should now have a better idea of your money habits. And depending on your answers, you may need to improve in a few areas. This is an important lesson to learn because caring for your money demonstrates responsibility, sending out a positive and powerful message. And the better you care for your money, the more you will notice that you attract more of it into your life.
Taking this a step further, you can add to your self-care practices by enriching yourself and expanding your mind through various modalities of personal development. This process allows you to push beyond your limitations, providing you with the perfect opportunity to promote additional growth. And what’s so amazing is that as you grow, so does your money!
